Teens & adults · 13 and upMMA
Mixed martial arts is a high-energy, fun way to train. Push your limits physically and mentally, and learn to handle yourself standing up and on the ground.
Standing up, going down, on the ground.
MMA puts the pieces together. You learn to strike and to defend strikes, to take someone down or stop their takedown, and to control and escape on the ground. Our academy is a jiu-jitsu school at its core, so the ground game you learn here is a real one.
Striking from a black belt
Master Wald is a Muay Thai black belt as well as a jiu-jitsu master, so the stand-up side of MMA here is taught with the same care as the ground. As in every class at the academy, technique comes first and is built one lesson at a time.
What a beginner class looks like
New students start in a beginner class. You learn your stance, how to move, and the basic punches, kicks and defenses, then how they connect to a takedown and to the ground. Partner drills and pad work make it a serious workout, and it never feels like a treadmill. You do not need any experience, and you do not need to want to compete.
From kids classes to teen MMA
Our kids train in MMA-style classes too: striking and self-defense, with no chokes or submissions for the youngest. Parents call it their "MMA family". When a Junior Champ turns 13, teen and adult MMA is the natural next step, and the habits they built as kids come with them.
MMA or jiu-jitsu?
If you mostly want to learn to handle yourself on the ground and through real self-defense situations, start with Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. If you want striking as well, start with MMA. When you come in for your free class, we will help you choose.

Students and families
He has a set series of lessons that a student can expect to progress through. Each session will begin with a review of the specific skills previously learned. After that review, new skills will be added. No time is wasted.
We love our MMA family! The team of coaches go above and beyond to support the children in their learning of the art form.
I can already see improvements in their confidence, listening skills and sense of pride in themselves. I would highly recommend their MMA program for kids!
I was hesitant because of my past injuries. So far I have completed 60 classes and not once have I injured myself. Constantly learning something new. A human chess game, I love it.
We make the drive all the way up from West Palm 2 to 3 times a week. The gym feels like a family when you walk in.
Questions
Before you
walk in.
Do I need experience to start MMA?
No. Classes start with fundamentals and build in order, so a complete beginner can keep up.
Do I have to fight or compete?
No. Most students train for self-defense, fitness and the challenge. Competing is entirely up to you.
What is the difference between MMA and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu?
Jiu-jitsu focuses on grappling and ground work. MMA adds striking and takedowns, so you train for a situation from standing to the ground.
