Champs

Little kids are full of energy and curiosity, and that can be a lot to manage. Little Champs gives them structure in a setting that is fun, engaging and supportive, so the energy goes somewhere good.

Big energy needs a place to go.

Classes are packed with games, drills and activities, so training feels exciting rather than repetitive. Underneath the fun, kids practice the basics that carry into everything else: listening the first time, waiting their turn, coordinating their body, and trying again when something is hard.

Martial arts gives kids instant feedback. They learn a move, they see themselves get it, and that is where confidence comes from. Kids are like sponges, and parents often notice a change after just one or two classes.

What they learn besides kicks

  • Listening and focus. Following a coach's instructions is the whole game, so it becomes a habit.
  • Respect. For coaches, for classmates and for themselves.
  • Healthy habits. Stripes are earned for healthy eating, attendance and a monthly assignment.
  • Character words. Each month has a character concept, and class ends with a word they talk about together.
  • Safe self-defense. No chokes or submissions for our youngest students.

From Little Champs to Junior Champs

Little Champs is the first step. Around age 8, kids move up to Junior Champs, where the self-defense gets more serious and the leadership lessons grow with them. Some of our students started in kindergarten and are still with us as teenagers.

Little Champs parents

My son is in the Little Champs class and has learned so much, not just the fundamentals of jiu jitsu but also the fundamentals of life!

Our daughter at age 4 has been training here for a little over 3 months, and it is amazing to see the difference in her demeanor, integrity and performance in such a short time.

Coach Ana and the entire team pour their heart and soul into nurturing the kids' development. They go above and beyond to support parents too, like offering Parents' Night Out.

I have seen huge improvements in my son's confidence. He rarely ever says "I can't do it" anymore. And when he does, we are able to get him through those feelings much quicker.

Questions

Before you
walk in.

My child is 4. Is that too young?

No. Little Champs starts at 4. Classes are built for short attention spans, with lots of movement and clear, simple instructions.

My child is shy. Will this be too much?

Shy kids are some of the ones who change the most. Coaches meet each child where they are, and small wins in every class build the confidence to speak up.

My child is not very coordinated. Will they get hurt?

Safety is the priority. We adapt to every child's ability, and our youngest students do not learn chokes or submissions.

My child hates sports. Will they hate this too?

Maybe at first, but martial arts is different from team sports. There is no bench and no one waiting on them to catch a ball. Kids often find it cool enough to stick with.

What should they wear to the first class?

Comfortable athletic clothes are fine for the first class. Call us at 561-694-8188 if you have questions before you come.
