When people think of kids martial arts, self-defense and fitness come to mind. It is that, and a lot more: confidence, discipline, focus, character and respect, built one class at a time.

A few words from Coach Bruna

"As someone with years of experience teaching kids martial arts, there is nothing more rewarding than watching them grow and thrive."

"Martial arts is far more than kicks, punches and earning new belts. It is about building confidence, discipline, focus, character and respect. And let us not forget, it is incredibly fun."

Sound familiar?

Amazing kids.
Some hard days.

They do not listen

You ask a hundred times before anything gets done. In class, listening the first time is the whole game, and kids rise to it.

Focus is a struggle

Smart and capable, but staying on task is hard. Remembering and performing sequences of moves is focus practice every class.

They need a boost

Shy kids need wins they earned. Stripes, belts and a coach who notices give them proof they can do hard things.

Protection from bullies

No parent wants their child in that situation, but every parent wants them ready. Junior Champs teaches practical self-defense for anything from a bully at school to real danger. Just as important, kids learn respect, self-control and how to calmly defuse a conflict, and to know when action is the only way to stay safe.

Fitness in disguise

Between screens and snacks, a lot of kids are not moving enough. Our classes are a full workout disguised as fun: games, drills and partner work that leave them tired, happy and sleeping better.

Character that lasts

Every month the kids program works on one character concept together, and our core values are on the wall: courtesy, modesty, perseverance, integrity, self-control and a never quit spirit. Stripes come from attendance, a monthly assignment and healthy eating, and belt ceremonies every few months make progress something they can hold.

Junior Champs families

Our daughter started in kindergarten and has essentially grown up in this program. Each year we have seen her develop more confidence, discipline, and leadership skills. She has learned to stand up for herself and for others, both on and off the mats.

Our son has been coming here for over a year now, first with the Little Champs and now Junior Champs. The classes are structured to keep them focused and energized!

I can already see improvements in their confidence, listening skills and sense of pride in themselves. I would highly recommend their MMA program for kids!

I was advised he might use his new moves in a negative way. That did not happen. After his first class he had the best week ever at school. No more bullying.

They focus on a different character concept each month which they integrate into the weekly classes. Your children will learn respect for others, for their community, and for themselves.

Questions

Before you
walk in.

My child is out of control. Can martial arts help?

Yes. Self-control is a core skill here. Kids learn to take charge of their actions and emotions while having fun.

I do not want my child getting into fights. Will this make them want to fight?

Not at all. We teach self-defense and how to resolve problems without violence. The goal is a child who does not need to fight and can handle it if they ever must.

What skills help with school?

Focus, discipline and respect. Learning and performing sequences of moves trains memory too, and a monthly assignment connects class to life at home.

Are the kids classes jiu-jitsu or MMA?

Kids learn a mix of striking and grappling for self-defense. Younger kids do not learn chokes or submissions.

Can martial arts help my child believe in themselves?

Absolutely. Every stripe and belt is proof they earned. One parent told us her son rarely says "I can't do it" anymore.
